Apart from the usual suspects in attendance at this reunion, (Click here for Guest List) we were pleased to welcome for the first time Jonathan Wear (OH Langford 1995 – 2002) seen here waiting patiently to be served at the bar! Sadly he was unable to stay very long at Doggett’s though because he had to get back to work to meet new clients.
On leaving HCS Jon won a scholarship to Sandhurst (RMA) and after passing out, performed several tours of duty to Afghanistan as a Captain in the Parachute Regiment before eventually resigning his commission and leaving the Army for civvie street. He started out at Deloitte as a consultant assessing and delivering change for clients at project, programme and portfolio levels.
Having experienced the inevitable difficulties of transferring from the military into civilian life, he wrote an article back in 2014 which appeared in The Guardian newspaper. It represented a kind of guide to all those soldiers and other service personnel undergoing the transition.
Jon now runs his own company dealing with change management including mergers and acquisitions.
