OH Day a success despite the floods!

OH Day 2015

The annual Old Herefordians’ Reunion was staged in Hereford on Saturday 5th December 2015, with the main sporting events taking place throughout the day despite the Wye having burst its banks (again)!

The first fixture was Netball which went ahead as planned inside the Sports Hall.

Then during mid-morning Mixed Hockey was staged as usual at the Hereford Leisure Centre.

    Football – A new event.
In the afternoon members and visitors were invited to return to the H L Centre at 2pm to watch a football match, where HCS took on an OH XI. Football was introduced as a new OH Day event in 2014 so this match represented the second annual challenge made by the School Eleven to the Old Herefordians.

Wyeside was unfortunately under several feet of water so the traditional and long-standing HCS vs. OH rugby match kicked off instead at 2.30pm at the Greyhound Rugby Club in the grounds of the Hereford City Sports Club in Grandstand Road.

Roger Sweetman (OH 1962 to 1969) was on hand to take photographs at each of the fixtures. He has captured them all in four sets of flickr albums as per these links below.

It is understood that a good time was had by all, with the day ending with an informal dinner at The Castle House Hotel for members and their partners.
