New War Memorial Plaque Unveiled

A new plaque has been commissioned by the Old Herefordians’ Club to commemorate the names of a further nine Old Herefordians who fell during the Boer War and the Great War.  It now hangs in the Lady Chapel alongside existing brass plaques that already list many more OHs who lost their lives whilst serving King & Country.

On Friday 9th November 2018 the whole school attended a remembrance service during which Dean Michael Tavinor dedicated the plaque in the presence of School Governors, the Headmaster & staff.

The day before, a Words & Music  service was held in the cathedral and on Armistice Day, Sunday 11th November 2018 Bishop Richard, the Clergy, the Royal British Legion plus local dignitaries took part in a special remembrance service in the cathedral, when over 3000 poppies descended from the tower during the customary 2 minute silence.
